Merry Christmas!

It has been snowing since December 23rd! We had planned to spend Christmas Eve at Grandma and Grandpa Butler's house and then drive to Burlington, WI to celebrate with Grandma and Grandpa Steinbach. Unfortunately the blizzard in the forecast changed our plans. We were not sure if we would even make it to Apple Valley on Christmas Eve, but the weather let up enough for us to venture out.

We made it back home safely so we could wake up Christmas morning in our own home for the first time. Matthew's first Christmas was calm and peaceful. We woke up, ate breakfast, did a family devotional, and explored the contents of Matthew's stocking.

Matthew reached out to pet the kitties today all by himself. Sadie was so gentle with him, it was sweet to watch.

It snowed all day! We went outside to shovel the driveway and try to make a snowman. The snowman I made wasn't so great (and didn't even make it through the night), but we have our own super snuggly snowman who doesn't melt when we bring him inside.

Matthew did not get his two front teeth for Christmas, but we expect them to make their grand appearance any day now. It looks like he is working on teeth on top now, too!

Since we didn't make it to Wisconsin this weekend, we plan to drive out next weekend. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. Merry Christmas!
